What’s new in Denmark?
Though futnet is a relatively new sport in Denmark, it is getting more and more popular, especially thanks to the enthusiasm of a women’s team from Copenhagen and their coach Pavel Masek, a Czech expat, who introduced them to this game. The girls have already participated in several important international events such as the UNIF Founding Cup late last year and the European Championship in June this year.
So what is new in Danish futnet since we last saw them in June in Vitoria? Pavel Masek tells us about their activities:
“This year during the summer first mens team started to play futnet in Denmark and the number of players are still growing. Some were recruited from a big cultural event in Copenhagen in August, where passers-by could try futnet. The weather was great and it was a good opportunity for us to promote futnet with the Danish people.
In addition to this great event we had an opportunity to show Copenhagen and our club to the men’s team of the French club G.I.F.T. (2nd division). During their stay in July we had lot of joint futnet training sessions and we learned a lot of new skills and exercises from them. The visit was a great success and we are already planning yet another friendly training camp of the two clubs in November in Paris.”
So all the best to the Danish players, we hope their Paris’ futnet experience will be equally successful and instructive and we are looking forward to hearing from them again very soon.
