Updated: Main points of EFTA Congress
2nd EFTA Ordinary General Assembly was held in Venaco, France, on 7 October on the occasion of the Men’s European Championship. The minutes of the meeting are now available. (updated on 24/11/2011)
This article presents the main changes in EFTA operation resulting from EFTA Congress and the adoption of new Statutes.
The name of our sport will be written in small letters – futnet – or, in case of titles and names as Futnet.
New membership fee for full members will be 250 EUR instead of 200 EUR, payable before 28 February. In case of delay, there is a 10% increase for each month. Provisional and Associate Members: 150 EUR
Participation fees for European Championship have been defined.
EFTA Members:
10 EUR for each player
A deposit of 200 EUR, returnable upon participation, shall be paid within a given deadline.
Non-EFTA members:
A non-returnable participation fee of 400 EUR
Each participating country shall have a UNIF-licensed referee. In absence of such referee, a referee fee of 200 EUR shall be paid to EFTA before the championship within a given deadline.
A new category of members has been created – Associate Members. This type of membership is designed for clubs or organisations carrying out futnet activities (entities promoting futnet) in countries or independent territories where there is no national association recognised by EFTA. Associate Membership shall lapse when a properly constituted national association in that country is admitted to EFTA. Associate Membership shall not extend for more than two (2) years unless the Executive Board decides otherwise.
Official language of EFTA is English.
EFTA General Secretary is a member of the Executive Board and has the right to vote. He/she shall not receive any commission from sponsorship contracts, only a fixed salary when funds are available.
Apart from the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Body, there will be four permanent committees laid down by the new Statutes (Financial, Legal, Technical and Competitions Committees), others may be set up by the Executive Board. Since the mission of EFTA is also to promote the participation of women in futnet events and their representation in futnet management, female candidates for committee members are particularly welcome.
Next EFTA Congress will take place next year in the Czech Republic on the occasion of UNIF Congress and World Championship, probably in early December.
According to the new Statutes, the Minutes of the Congress shall be sent to the members within 45 days of the termination of the Congress. Members will then have 20 days to submit any comments or objections. In the absence of any objections within the 20-day period, the minutes shall be considered adopted and will be posted on EFTA webpage.
