Montreal's futnet premiere - First class!
Smashes, spikes, drop-balls, scissors – all the jaw-dropping futnet moves were seen on 17 and 18 August at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. First international futnet event in Canada gathered the best performers of the art of futnet who offered a spectacular show.
Canada, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Slovakia and South Korea among men and Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic and Hungary among women delighted the fans with their amazing technical skills and fighting, but fair-play spirit throughout all the Mondial Soccertennis.
The home men’s team of Canada demonstrated an admirable progress since their first international appearance last year in Czech Republic and together with their female counterparts for whom the Mondial was the international premiere they showed a great potential and a promising future for Canadian futnet.
Brazilian players amazed everybody with their superb ball technique and the way they could use the shoulders or the chest to control and pass the ball. France got the supporters going crazy with fantastic their acrobatic moves and South Korea, apart from the great technique, won the hearts of all the spectators with their pure joy after each point scored as well as their typical salute KORE-A just before the serve.
The best two teams of the present – Czech Republic and Slovakia – demonstrated once again why they are the creme de la creme of futnet and did not leave any doubt about who was going to be in the final. There the luck was on he Slovak side who in a very exciting match managed to defeat their eternal rivals 2:1 (7:11, 11:8, 11:9). In the women's final the Czech Republic won against the surprise of the tournament Canada 2:0.
It is impossible to sum up this unforgettable experience in one article, so the best is to check all the news, photos and videos at Futnet World facebook. For pictures, see also the website of two great professional photographers Martin Lachambre (Canada) and Michel Dumerge (France) who captured the spirit of Mondial in their amazing photos.
Simply one great show with all that it takes – best futnet performers, fantastic master of conferences and an incredibly receptive audience, catchy dance tunes between the points, sunny weather and a great relaxed atmosphere. What else could we have wished for?
A very big THANK YOU to the organisers who prepared a superb tournament and highly professional setting for all participants throughout all their stay in Montreal, from receiving them at the airport, through a wonderful hotel, great food, the chance to show futnet at the Rogers Cup (and to see the best tennis players) to the excellent organisation of the Mondial itself. UNIF is very grateful to Cadima Sports Group for taking care of the flights and accommodation of the delegations. We would like to thank Mr George Papamikidis, President/CEO, and Mr Christian Prévost, Sports and Events Director, who together with their highly capable team offered us their hospitality and support during our stay in Montreal. We appreciate very much your professional attitude, commitment and dedication and are looking forward to next futnet events in Canada in the future!
