Mali's Association nominated for Peace and Sport Award
With extreme pleasure we have received the news that “N’Tola Sarama – Herenana“ project by the National Futnet Association of Mali has been selected as one of the three nominees for the annual awards of the Peace and Sport organisation.
“N’Tola Sarama – Herenana“ is a project which uses sport as a means to promote education and development in Mali recovering after war. A History of Passion and Sharing is the title of a beautiful inspirational video from N'tola Sarama, National Futnet Association of Mali, which shows the work of N'tola Sarama in one rural community with the aim to put the smiles back on children’s faces, to create job opportunities for young people and women and to protect the environment through plastic waste recycling. The video has been shared on UNIF’s facebook Futnet World and is available also here.
“L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” (known as Peace and Sport) is a neutral and apolitical organization under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco which promotes the practice of structured sport and sporting values to achieve sustainable peace. Peace and Sport intervenes in areas affected by extreme poverty, recent conflict or lack of social cohesion.
Earlier in October, “N’Tola Sarama – Herenana“ project has been selected as one of the three nominees for the Adapted Program of the Year Award of the Peace and Sport. The winner will be announced during the Peace and Sport Awards Ceremony that will take place on Thursday, 7th November in Monaco, under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Congratulations to our friends from Mali on the great video, their most deserving work and on the fantastic news of the nomination! We are very proud that N'tola Sarama is a member of UNIF and we keep our fingers crossed for the award ceremony!
