Latest news from Czech Republic
At present time futnet starts its rest period as far as the official competitions are concerned. On 28th September the top men competition (extra-league) finished with the final match between the teams of Modřice and Karlovy Vary which was – for the first time in history – broadcasted live by the Czech TV sports channel. We all believe that more live TV futnet broadcasting will follow.
Lower leagues were also finished, including the qualification tournament of regional winners for 2nd league participation. The winner of the top women’s competition (1st league) was Český Brod – seven teams had participated in this competition. The several-time winner of junior competition has been Prostějov (with participation of 8 teams).
National championships (day events) in individual disciplines (singles, doubles, triples) for all age categories have also taken place. There was a big novelty in men’s category for all disciplines – on-line internet broadcasting. At present, there is a possibility to watch these match records in the archive (click on MČR mužů v nohejbalu). Broadcasting of league matches in next season (not only concerning men competitions) by the operator of this portal are currently under negotiations. At the same time, the Czech Futnet Association is negotiating on-line broadcasting of international competitions like World and European Championships. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
The last important event of this year will certainly be 26th international futnet tournament (triples) The Last Smash that is traditionally organised in Prague (TJ Pankrác sports hall) during the weekend of 17th – 18th December 2011. In the frame of this tournament the refresher courses for coaches (national licences “C” and “D”) will be organised by the Commission for National Development. During winter months the same commission in cooperation with Referees’ Commission will organise two professional seminars for league referees – one in the Czech lands, the other in Moravia.
During weekend 3rd – 4th December 2011 the National Team Commission will hold a short training camp for talented juniors (girls and boys) in Nymburk Sports Centre, the aim is to further develop their futnet skills. Training units are open to junior’s coaches that would like to learn something new from international futnet know-how. Every evening a professional discussion with members of Executive Committee and National Team Commission will follow including topics of youth development in the Czech Republic.
