International Camp Report 2
On Tuesday the camp became even more international with the arrival of Denis Vilenkin, President of Ukrainian Futnet Association, who did not mind a 24-hour journey by bus from Kiev to come to attend the seminar for futnet coaches and spend a few days among futnet friends.
In his words, he would be very happy to come also with some boys and girls from Ukraine if only the travel for Ukrainian citizens to the EU was a bit easier and cheaper (they need visa to enter the EU and to get it costs quite a lot of money and paperwork). Bearing that in mind, one appreciates all the efforts that Ukrainian futnet players have to make to take part in international tournaments and championships. If all goes well, we will see them this October in men’s European Championship in Corsica. Fingers crossed!
Talking about the international character of the camp, however, it is sad that one of the delegations whose arrival was awaited with great expectation did not come in the end. A few months before the camp, India expressed an interest to take part in the camp and they even paid a deposit for 5 children and one coach. However, as the camp approached and the organisers had no information about their arrival, there were several attempts to contact them, unfortunately, without any result. It is a pity they could not take part in the camp, we hope they are well and that we will be able to welcome them to our future futnet events.
Fortunately, other could make it and we were very happy to be able to receive players from 5 countries: French girls, members of the national team who represented their country in the women’s European Championship in Vitoria earlier this year; boys from the States most of them who inherited their love for futnet from their Czech parents or grandparents; Slovak delegation, headed by the President of Slovak Futnet Association Gabriel Viňanský, with EFTA General Secretary Zuzana Viňanská and boys from two Slovak clubs and Hungarian delegation, headed by the famous Hungarian player and this time coach Tamás Pál, with a highly-talented girl and two boys that were selected for the best group. And, of course, the Czech delegations from various towns and cities, including the home team of Chabařovice.
