International Camp Report 1
2nd International Futnet Camp for Women and Children is over, but it will definitely stay in the hearts and minds of all the participants for a long time. For some of them it was their second time in Chabařovice, others were newcomers, but their faces revealed that they all equally enjoyed themselves.
Monday was the arrival day for all the delegations. Most of them arrived in the afternoon, some like, for example, the Slovak delegation from the “Far East” who had been travelling by night train, already in the morning (their 12-hour journey was probably even longer than the plane travel of the boys from the US). Gradually, the delegations from France, USA, Hungary and, of course, the Czech Republic were checking in in the camping site where the accommodation was provided in simple, but clean and functional cottages that slept 3 or 4 people. A nearby lake offered a nice refreshment during the hot days after hard work on the courts which were located just a few minute walk from the camping site.
The sports premises of TJ Slovan Chabařovice included a football pitch, four clay courts and two courts with an artificial surface. Usually the morning warm-up would take place on the football pitch and after that each group would go and train on their court.
On Monday evening at 8 pm, after dinner, the opening ceremony on the courts was led by Kamil Kleník, President of Czech Futnet Association and, at the same time, of European Futnet Association(EFTA). He was assisted by EFTA General Secretary Zuzana Viňanská who would also take part in the training sessions. Mr Kleník welcomed the participants, informed them about the camp schedule and wished them an enjoyable time and lots of new futnet friends. After the opening, despite the tiring travel and full four days of futnet ahead of them, many could not resist the opportunity for a match.
So there we were, on late Monday evening, with all the courts taken by boys and girls who, though from different countries, were speaking the same language – the language of love for futnet.
