Draw for World Championships on 25 Oct
The official draw for the 2016 UNIF Futnet World Championships will take place on 25 October during the press conference specially dedicated to the most important futnet event this year.
The press conference will be held at 11.00 in the premises of FC Zbrojovka Brno football club in the town of Brno, Czech Republic, which will host the World Championships on 18-20 November.
The draw will be recorded and later uploaded to the World Championships website or facebook.
Among the guests are Kamil Klenik, President of UNIF and Czech Futnet Association, Jiri Smejkal, Czech national team manager, Petr Gulda, Czech national team coach, Petr Svancara, former professional football player who took the auspices over the event and Jan Pospisil, twenty-time world champion in cycle ball which is a sport similar to football played on bicycles.
Apart from the official draw, the guests will talk about the schedule, tickets, mascot of the tournament and the Czech national team.
The seeding for the official draw and the playing format are being finalised these days and will soon be published on the World Championships website. The countries will be seeded according to the results at 2012 World Championships in each discipline – single, double, triple.
UNIF has received applications from 22 countries: Austria, Basque Country, Canada, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Mali, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Korea, Switzerland, Ukraine, USA
Top 12 countries in each discipline will play for the World Champion in the main tournament (7 countries advancing directly based on the results from Nymburk plus Romania on a wild card plus 4 countries from the qualifying stage held on Friday morning and early afternoon). The rest of the coutries from the qualifying tournament will battle it out for UNIF President’s Cup in Division B.
