Danish futnet team in Paris
On 11 November four Danish futnet players arrived in Paris for a five-day training trip. The trip was hosted by the French team G.I.F.T. who visited Denmark last summer. The partnership between the two teams started at the UNIF Founding Cup in December 2010.
The first joint training of the week took place on Saturday morning where different exercises for shortballs and smashes were practised. Also on Tuesday the two teams had a training together. This time with focus on defence and passes.
“It is important for us to be able to practise with other teams from other countries than Denmark to further develop futnet in our country. We only started playing futnet in Denmark in 2008 and have still a lot of work to do to improve our skills and promote the sport. Our partnership with G.I.F.T. is therefore very important for us as it gives us some really good experience with exercises, techniques, tactics and organisation in general,” says Anna Alsing Friberg, player of KFIF Denmark.
On Sunday the Danish players participated in an unofficial part of the qualifying tournament for the French Championship and had a chance to play against some of the best teams from Paris and the surroundings.
The next visit in Denmark by the players from G.I.F.T. will hopefully take place in the spring 2012.
