Costa Rican Futnet News
Costa Rican Futnet Association is currently developing its first National League, in the triples - single bounce - male category, with the presence of six teams, five of them composed mostly by college students and young professionals from San José and other provinces of the nation’s central valley, and a team integrated by former players of the Costa Rican Homeless World Cup team.
This league is played in two rounds, each team facing the other rivals two times, and then the best four squads will advance to the semifinals and the final match, which will be held on December 3rd in the facilities of San José’s Sports Committee, the main sponsor of the League.
Thanks to the labour of Mr. Esteban Santiago, secretary of Futnet Costa Rica, the mentioned institution provided all the required equipment for the event, such as: nets, balls, trophies, scoreboard, training material and a special tape to adapt a volleyball court into a futnet surface. The referees team is led by a former futsal and football referee, Mr. Edgar Lobo. There are also two minor sponsors: a Physical Therapy clinic and a Restaurant / Sports Bar.
The level of the matches is improving every weekend, as the players are more familiarised with the rules and technique of our sport, predicting very exciting games for the final round of the tournament.
Good luck to all of the players and staff!
