1st Futnet Cup in Denmark
On 11th August, Copenhagen Futnet- and Sports-Association (KFIF) in cooperation with the Danish Football Association (DBU) held the first official futnet cup ever in Denmark.
The tournament lasted seven hours in which both experienced players as well as newcomers of both genders were competing against each other in the disciplines single, double and triple. The purpose was to give an opportunity for new potential futnet players to try their luck with the sport, but also to test the players of KFIF ahead of the upcoming Women’s and Men’s World Championships. The national team’s players seem well-prepared as all disciplines were won by members of KFIF.

The winners of the tournament:
- Single – Ales Horak (KFIF)
- Double – Christian Østermarkand Frederik Frost (KFIF)
- Triple – Ales Horak, Christian Østermarkand Morten Alsing Pedersen (KFIF)
Futnet is not yet a well-known sport in Denmark so an open-for-all tournament is a great way to spread awareness of the sport. KFIF is therefore happy to announce the coming of a second futnet cup on 13th October with one difference from the previous tournament – the discipline single will not be played in order to make room for more teams to enter the tournament in double and triple. Hopefully new players will be drawn towards futnet so the sport will become better known among the Danish people.
