1st European FutNet Championship for Women and Juniors
On 4 and 5 June 2011, the capital of the Basque Country, Vitoria, will host 1st European FutNet Championship for Women and Juniors organised by European FutNet Association (EFTA) and Basque FutNet Association (AVAFUT).
The championship is open to all national FutNet associations who are members of EFTA as well as non-members. The invitation has been sent out and in April we will know which countries are going to participate in the tournament. The arrival of all delegations is scheduled on Friday, 3 June, and departure on Monday, 6 June.
The championship will take place in Vitoria, the capital of Basque Country which is an autonomous region located in the north of Spain. Vitoria has a population of about 240 000 and is about one hour drive from the largest city in the Basque Country, Bilbao, which has an international airport with direct flights to Germany, France, England, etc.
The event will be held in the sports premises of BAKH – Baskonia Kirol Hiria or Sports City of Baskonia, one of the best basketball teams in Spain and the winner of 2010 Spanish league. Baskonia has kindly offered its full support to the championship which is highly appreciated by EFTA as well as AVAFUT. It is a great privilege that the first important international FutNet tournament in Spain can count with such a strong partner and hopefully, the European Championship will only be the beginning of this partnership.
Soon there will be a website dedicated to the European championship where you can find all the relevant information. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact us at info@futnet.eu. Check out also our section Events.
